Supporting our students and promoting our school

Friends of Stowmarket High is the school’s PTA. We are a group of volunteers supporting and promoting our students and school within the town.

All money raised goes towards the extra resources, equipment and experiences that the school may not otherwise be able to afford.

What we do

Over the past couple of years we have sought to build up the FOSH presence at school events, showcase the school in the local community and host fundraising events of our own.

We have run refreshments at various school events including open evenings and school theatre productions, hosted family quiz nights, a painting evening, created floats for the Stowmarket Carnival, (winning in 2024!) and decorated a tree at the Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival.

Students and FOSH

We have a fantastic, small but very dedicated group of students (FOSH CLUB) who help out with making and creating things for various events and games. Mrs Shaw oversees them at lunchtimes. If your child would like to be a part of the FOSH Club please get them to ask Mrs Shaw directly.

Donations to School

As well as helping the school to have a more welcoming and better local community presence, of course all our fundraising efforts are about raising money to give back. Last year we donated funds for the an educational skeleton for science, Sports Kit for school matches, chess sets for Maths lunchtime club and much more see below.

We are a friendly bunch and welcome new members and helpers!

The committee meet every half term for planning and ideas, and help is always welcome for selling refreshments at events, baking things for cake sales, making props, helping on the carnival float, making decorations for the tree festival and more!
